چکیده
Abstract Background Galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) have been shown to modulate the intestinal microbiota of suckling piglets exert beneficial effects on function. However, modulation and function by GOS in inflammation injury models has rarely reported. In this study, we investigated colonic mucosal composition, barrier inflammatory response lipopolysaccharides (LPS)-challenged piglets. Methods A total 18 newborn were divided into three groups, CON group, LPS-CON group LPS-GOS group. Piglets orally fed with 1 g/kg body weight solution every day. On d 14, challenged intraperitoneally LPS solution. All slaughtered 2 h after intraperitoneal injection sampled. Results We found that mucosa LPS-challenged was significantly injured shedding, while maintained its structure. Moreover, reduced concentration malondialdehyde (MDA) activity reactive oxygen species (ROS) piglets, increased antioxidant capacity (T-AOC). relative abundance norank_f__Muribaculaceae Romboutsia , decreased Alloprevotella Campylobacter Helicobacter addition, concentrations acetate, butyrate short chain fatty acids (SCFAs) digesta interleukin 1β (IL-1β), 6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) cluster differentiation 14 (CD14), mRNA expression Toll-like receptor 4 ( TLR4 ) myeloid primary 88 MyD88 mucin2 MUC2 ), protein Claudin-1 zonula occluden-1 (ZO-1) Conclusions These results suggested can mucosa-associated composition improve

Galacto-oligosaccharides and bowel function
Constipation is a common problem and its prevalence increases with age. Severe constipation requires treatment with laxatives, but nutritional therapy, especially increased dietary fibre intake, is recommended primarily for the prevention and treatment of mild constipation. One alternative may be the use of oligosaccharides, which act as soluble fibre and have a bifidogenic effect. Galacto-olig...
متن کاملGalacto‐oligosaccharides attenuate renal injury with microbiota modification
Tubulointerstitial injury is central to the progression of end-stage renal disease. Recent studies have revealed that one of the most investigated uremic toxins, indoxyl sulfate (IS), caused tubulointerstitial injury through oxidative stress and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress. Because indole, the precursor of IS, is synthesized from dietary tryptophan by the gut microbiota, we hypothesized t...
متن کاملCoated zinc oxide improves intestinal immunity function and regulates microbiota composition in weaned piglets.
The present study was conducted to test the hypothesis that low concentrations of coated ZnO, as a substitute for a high concentration of ZnO (2250 mg Zn/kg), could improve intestinal immunity function and regulate microbiota composition, thus alleviating the incidence of diarrhoea in weaned piglets. A total of eighty-four cross-bred piglets, weaned at an age of 28 (SEM 1) d, were allocated ran...
متن کاملRegional differences in colonic mucosa-associated microbiota determine the physiological expression of host heat shock proteins.
Cytoprotective heat shock proteins (Hsps) are critical for intestinal homeostasis and are known to be decreased in inflammatory bowel diseases. Signals responsible for maintenance of Hsp expression are incompletely understood. In this study, we find that Hsp25/27 and Hsp70 protein expressions are differentially regulated along the longitudinal length of the large intestine, being highest in the...
متن کاملChanges in the composition and function of the gut microbiota in celiac disease
Evidence is supported the hypothesis that any changes in the composition and function of the gut microbiota play a fundamental role in a number of chronic inflammatory diseases including celiac disease (CD). In the last decade, several culture-independent methods have been developed to identify the components of the human microbiome. The study of microbiota based on nucleic acid analysis found ...
